Resubmit

NEW
Version 0.4, released 3rd of February 2006, may be used from now on.
Beside Kmail, Resubmit uses by default nail to send a message previously edited in a text editor.
A configuration file resubmit.conf will be placed in /etc/resubmit/. This file may be changed whenever you want. E.g. if one often submits entries in foreign languages, set the "capit-question" to off in the config file! Or to switch between the submission modes (nail vs. kmail), just open the conf file and edit the line.
An option -c may be used with command line to check wich categories are used. (See the README file).
What Is It?
Resubmit is used to correct faulty entries in FreeDB. It is a Perl script and depends on KMail or nail and is intended for use with Konqueror (KDE) while browsing freedb.org, but command line works too! With one click a new message will be prepared, ready for resubmission. All words will have first character uppercase, but this behaviour can be changed using the config file. Corrections can be made before sending the message to freedb.org.
Download?
The latest version of resubmit is 0.4 (released 3rd of February 2006):
  • resubmit-0.4.tar.bz2 ,
  • resubmit-0.4.tar.gz
  • And now?
It's the first time you download a tar-ball? You can expand them with the commands
  • tar xvvfj resubmit-0.4.tar.bz2 or
  • tar xvvfz resubmit-0.4.tar.gz .
  • And after that? Resubmit!
You should find all information you need in the README file, type resubmit --help or look at the picture below, it should say everything!

Installation is exactly explained in the README file! Use the Makefile (type as root: make install) and put the resubmit.desktop file to your KDE path, e.g. $HOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus.

    If resubmit sucks?
Then please let me know why!
And: I tested this program on more than 1000 entries. It worked so far, but may not be bug-free. If suddenly something shouldn't work anymore, then PLEASE mail me! I will fix it as soon as possible!

BTW, if you've time to make a nice page for this script, please feel free to drop a note...
